Pennsic recovery Friday and beyond

It’s time for clean up and reflection.

Today I’m washing dishes and doing lots of laundry. I unpacked the car and put everything away.
I’m oiling my feast gear and stacking my hats.
We made enchiladas for dinner and took some heavy naps.
Our plan had always been to do only one week this year.
I don’t have much more vacation time than we’ve used up and we didn’t know if we would like it enough to do two weeks.

We all agree that we want to go back.
We have grand plans of inviting friends and having a big household encampment of our own.
We have logistical things that we have clear answers for and we have things we missed that we want a crack at.
I never got to a bardic. We didn’t make it to any more belly dancing. I wanted to shoot more and with my bigger bow.

This morning Megan and I both independently voiced our missing of the Pennsic routine we’d developed. Walking down to coffee and breakfast and admiring great hats and garb.

We have a big list of projects that we would like to do before next time.
From the semi easy: a sheet wall for privacy to the highly demanding: a tower for our gate with shower and camp toilet.
I’m looking for solutions to get David out there: maybe rent an RV?
We know we needed more cash and now Megan has a whole new persona to costume and play. I don’t have anything Chinese let alone two weeks worth.
Kiernan needs bolts and practice time on his crossbow and we all need time to settle.

It’s good to be home but…
That was a great experience. Hopefully we will improve on it next year.
